I remember getting my first radio when I was 12 years old – wow, it was ace. A black Philips that my great uncle had been using in his shed. The thing was ancient but I loved it. I used to spend hours listening to it.
My local music station at the time Severn Sound was playing a lot of Transvision Vamp, mostly “Baby, I don’t care”. I remember Transvision Vamp just disappearing suddenly and being quite disappointed about it – only for Wendy James to pop up with a solo album a few years later and disappear again.
